We welcome original submissions in areas such as:

History & Heritage: Untold stories, forgotten personalities, historical research, heritage sites, archival discoveries and Kashmir’s rich past.

Culture & Literature: Articles on Kashmiri language, literature, poetry, folklore, art, music, traditions and cultural life.

Long-form Features: In-depth stories that explore important issues, communities, ideas and experiences across Kashmir.

Travel & Places: Well-researched travel guides, local experiences, heritage walks and stories about Kashmir’s towns, villages and landscapes.

Profiles & Interviews: Stories about people making a difference in their communities, professions or fields of work.

Technology & Digital Life: Stories about technology, startups, innovation, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, digital culture, internet infrastructure and how technology is shaping life in Kashmir.

Explainers & Analysis: Research-based articles that provide context, explain complex topics and explore important public issues in a clear and accessible way.

Opinion & Essays: Thoughtful opinion pieces that encourage meaningful discussion. We welcome diverse viewpoints, provided they are well-reasoned, respectful and supported by evidence where appropriate.

Before You Submit

Please keep these guidelines in mind.

Original Work: We only accept original work that has not been published elsewhere unless agreed in advance.

Accuracy: Please verify all facts, names, quotations and references before submitting. Where applicable, include links or citations for statistics, research or other factual claims.

Length: Most articles range between 800 and 2,500 words, although exceptional submissions outside this range may also be considered.

AI-Assisted Writing: You may use AI tools for brainstorming, research assistance, grammar or proofreading. However, your submission should reflect your own original thinking, writing and judgement. If AI has played a significant role in preparing your article, please let us know when submitting.

Images: If you include photographs, illustrations or graphics, please ensure you own the rights to use them or have permission from the copyright holder.

Editorial Process

Every submission is reviewed by our editorial team.

We may suggest edits to improve clarity, accuracy, structure or style before publication. Submitting an article does not guarantee publication.

Contributor Rights

Contributors retain the copyright to their original work.

By publishing with Koshur Dude, you grant us permission to publish, edit, archive and promote your article across our website and official platforms.

Unless otherwise agreed, published contributions will be released under our standard Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0) licence. This allows others to share and adapt the work for non-commercial purposes, provided appropriate credit is given to both the author and Koshur Dude.

If you wish to republish your work elsewhere, you’re welcome to do so. We simply ask that you acknowledge Koshur Dude as the original publisher and include a link to the original article whenever possible.

Contributor Payments

Koshur Dude welcomes both voluntary contributions and commissioned work.

Most unsolicited submissions are published on a voluntary basis. From time to time, we may commission selected articles for publication. Where payment is offered, it will always be discussed and agreed before work begins.

How to Submit

Please include the following with your submission:

• Your article or a short description of your idea
• A brief author biography (up to 50 words)
• Your email address and contact details
• Any photographs or supporting material, if applicable

Please send your article as:

• A Google Docs link with commenting enabled, or
• A Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) document.

If your submission includes large files such as photographs, research material or datasets, you may include a Google Drive or Dropbox link instead of attaching them directly.

• We reserve the right to edit submissions for clarity, grammar, formatting and style while preserving the author’s intended meaning.
• We may decline submissions that do not align with our editorial standards or publication focus.
