Srinagar – In a remarkable achievement, Dr. Rukhsar Sayeed, a young woman entrepreneur from Hyderpora, Srinagar, has made history by becoming the first Kashmiri contestant to be selected for the renowned cooking reality show, Master Chef India.

Dr. Rukhsar, who is known for starting the first ‘Frozen Food’ venture in the valley, has secured her place among the top 16 finalists of Master Chef India after a rigorous audition process that took place in June. Her culinary expertise and passion for food have propelled her into the final rounds of the highly competitive show.

In the official promotional video for Master Chef India, Dr. Rukhsar is seen expressing her enthusiasm for the culinary challenge, stating that she is ready to mesmerize the judges with mouth-watering Kashmiri cuisine. Her goal is to transport those who taste her dishes to the breathtaking valleys of Kashmir. Dr. Rukhsar’s passion for food and her dedication to preserving the authentic flavors of Kashmiri cuisine shine through in the promo.

“When someone eats my food with closed eyes, I want to take him or her to the valleys of Kashmir,” she can be seen saying in the promo.

Dr. Rukhsar’s journey to Master Chef India is a testament to her unwavering dedication to the culinary arts. In 2019, after completing her PhD in Food Technology, she achieved a significant milestone by launching the first frozen food venture in the Kashmir Valley. Her venture offers a range of easy-to-cook and ready-to-eat halal snacks, providing convenience and a taste of Kashmiri culture to consumers.

Master Chef India is set to air on Sony Liv from October 16, featuring prominent celebrity chefs such as Vikas Khanna, Ranveer Brar, and Pooja Dhingra as judges. The show is already creating buzz on social media platforms, with the promo amassing an astounding 14 million views. Dr. Rukhsar’s journey has captivated the imagination of the audience, and many have expressed their best wishes for her to emerge as the show’s winner.

“So this season we will have Kashmiri cuisines to tickle the taste buds of judges. All the best Rukhsar, we pray and hope you will be the winner of the show. Common and show the world how enriching Kashmiri cuisines are,” commented Muzamil Ahmad, a netizen on the promo of the show.

As the show airs on Sony Liv, it’s expected that audiences worldwide will tune in to witness the remarkable journey of Dr. Rukhsar Saeed, the Kashmiri entrepreneur who has elevated the art of cooking and taken Kashmiri cuisine to new heights.
